Motivational Talk

Only those who think and see big can grow big

It is a known fact that those who make it big always think and see big. It is not all about how you get it started, little wonder why Donald Trump said "At the end you shall be measured not by how much you undertake but by what you finaly accomplish". Always remember - it is not how far but how well. A lot of people are scared of failure, they are are affraid of getting started while others start big and end-up small or even fail. So, it is not a question of how you get it started; I beg to differ, it is a matter of getting it started whether small or big. Napoleon Hill once said  "If you cannot do great things,do small things in a great way". As a 17 year old boy, Bill Gates, Ceo Microsoft had a vision to have a computer on every home in America, today that dream has made him the richest man in the world. A teacher of Winston Churchill marked the school work of the young Churchill and remarked "No Ambition" saluted later as one of the greatest English military genuis and statesmen of the twentieth century, Churchill defined courage as the capacity to go from failure to failure without loosing enthusaism. called to to give a graduation lecture to a major Brithish University later in his life,Churchill stunned the distinguished professors and eminent citizens that had assembled to hear from him from all over the world when he got up to speak. he grabbed the microphone and said "Determine what you want in life and never-never give up" and he sat down to a thundering ovation. the lecture was ended. "Never Give Up".

Those who follow the masses can never be followed by the masses

Maintaining the status quo can only lead you to the path of follower-ship. Exceptional people do exceptional things. Little wonder why Niccolo Machiavelli said "It should be borne in mind that there is nothing more difficult to handle, more doubtful of success and more dangerous to carry through than imating changes". Ted Roosevelt, former American president once said " I choose not to be a common man because it is my right to be uncommon if I can. I seek opportunity not security, I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculate risk, to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence, the thrill of fulfillment to the calm state of utopia. I will never cover before any master nor bend to any friend. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid to think and act myself and face the world boldly and say- This I have done".Have a vision and be on a mission, structure out your objectives and make your self a moving train, carry along those that want to go with you, see those that do not want to go with you as distraction and crush those that dares to stand by your way...With God on your side, you will definitely get to the top.

Only those who go through ticks and turns before they make it could tell the story of a "HERO"

The English Oxford Dictionary defined a "HERO" as a person, especially a man who is admired by many for doing something brave or good. At 80 years of age, Charles De Gaulle was president of France, it is no more news that a former president of the united states of America once ruled on wheel chair, in his book, the dynamic laws of services, Harvey Day wrote: Few people can point to as many failures as Abraham Lincoln, in 1882 he was defeated as a candidate for the legislature, in 1883 he failed in business and lost all his properties, in 1838, he was defeated as a candidate for speaker, in 1843, he was defeated as a candidate for congressional nomination, in 1848, he failed to be re-elected to congress, in 1855, he was defeated as a candidate for the senate, in 1856, he was defeated as a candidate for vice-presidential nomination, in 1858, he was again defeated when he tried to get into the senate. Yet he eventually became one of the worlds famous American president. His Gettysburg address where he defined democracy as "The government of the people by the people and for the people" is still one of the greatest pieces of oratory throughout the ages and worlds favourite definition of democracy. little wonder why Thomas Edison failed over a thousand times before he invented the electric bulb. when asked in a press conference why he had to fail over a thousand times before he succeeded, he put it simply  "I only learned over a thousand times why I should not fail again" the old have a tendency to look at the sunset rather than the sunrise. A calender has nothing to do with it, whether you are old or young has nothing to do with what you want to achieve in life. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe once attempted to commit suicide while in America, he later became the first president of independent Nigeria. General Yakubu Gowon was less than 27 years of age when he became a military head of state in Nigeria, he held unto that post for almost a decade. He even led Nigeria in her first civil war and won against the Biafrans who wanted to secede from Nigeria. Dr Nelson Mandela was in jail for 27 years for fighting a cause yet he never gave up, he only saw it as a stepping stone not a stumbling block. He later became the president of South Africa. Age is not a barrier "Heroism lies in the courage to pursue and achieve what you want in life with vigorous tenacity".
